At the disposal of the 15 students were a 14" Meade SCT, an 11" Celestron SCT, a Takahashi 106 for the photographs, under the control of Rhys, the big 5" binoculars, and Rhy's 8" Celestron SCT, and Sue's smaller pair of binoculars on a tripod.
The students had been brought there by their parents but were in the care of their teacher Jane Walls.
They were assisted by the DAS crew of Rhys, Max, Paul, field photographer, Elaine, Sue, Tony, Mark, Phil and me.
A very good evening indeed, clear sky to start, then cloud then cleared again. The cloud spoiled Rhys's attempt on M42 and M45, so he only got a couple of frames. He made every student type their name into his laptop and start the photograph by pressing another key.

Unfortunately, the clouds spoiled Rhys's effort to photograph M42 the Orion Nebula and M45 the Pleiades, so I've added representatives of his work in place of the ones he attempted on the night.
